Deco House
Deco House is the renovation of a period cottage transformed into a functional family home on a generous Kew block. Balanced with contemporary materials, a tasteful Art Deco influence informs the arching silhouettes and geometric figures used throughout.
Curved timber is prominent, with hoop pine ceilings inside and glulam beams in the rear courtyard. Taking cues from the original home, pressed red brick with white masonry honours its heritage, while polished concrete floors bring something new.
The playful use of natural light and the engagement between the built structure and the garden elements create connectedness. The home feels purposeful and timeless.
